Coffee Morning

Plants for sale

This year we had to have four tables of plants and one for vegetables.

Here one of our volunteers, Pam, is busy selling to two customers at once.

Let them eat cake!

As it's coffee morning, many visitors like to indulge themselves with a cake -or two! Our members bake a range of cakes, sponges and flapjacks (including gluten-free) especially for the morning.
Sue and Lynda (from left to right) are taking a break, after setting up, ready for the rush.

Recruitment table

Apart from fund-raising one of the aims of the coffee morning is to publicize our activities and recruit more volunteers.

As we look after most of the floral beds and displays in the town (planting well over a thousand plants twice a year), we are always looking for new recruits.

This year we had an information table at the entrance showing some of our work including our Portfolio submissions over the years and when we won the last Gold from Britain in Bloom.

Several people signed up on the day and we look forward to them starting with us.

If you would like to help (gardener or non-gardener) please contact our Chair, Chris, on 01395 443722 or email
